Project Overview

Waresix, a leading logistics platform, is launching Mobitech TMS, a new Transport Management System powered by AI. As a foundational module for this new product, the Order Management module is critical for providing immediate value to early adopters. This case study focuses on the MVP design of the Create Order page. The primary goal for this MVP was to establish a functional, user-friendly, and efficient order creation experience that validates core workflows and provides a solid foundation for future feature expansion.

The Challenge: Building a Core Feature for a New Product

For Mobitech TMS's MVP, the focus was on building from scratch, not redesigning. We prioritized core functionality for basic usability and initial value. Rapid launch was crucial to validate the product and gather early feedback. The design needed to be intuitive for first-time users of the platform. It was essential to validate fundamental order workflows meeting core logistics needs and to build a scalable foundation for future expansion.

The intent

Driven by the MVP challenges, our design intentionally aimed to:

Understanding the User

Before diving into features, we hypothesized that logistics planners at Mobitech TMS are often dealing with time pressure, repetitive data entry, and the need to handle complex routes. We assumed their biggest pain points are slow order creation and potential errors due to manual processes.

The Design

Clear Modality Selection (FTL/LTL Tabs)

Establishes clear order type selection from the start, simplifying the subsequent form and guiding users to the relevant fields for their service type. Essential for a basic, functional order creation flow.
